Built of aluminium by the French shipyard Leguen Hémidy, TARKA has proved the robustness of its construction during 12 trips to Antarctica, numerous passages of Cape Horn and navigations around Greenland and in the Svalbard Archipelago.

TARKA has 4 double cabins with ensuite head, and a cabin for the crew. Its cockpit is very large and allows everyone to be able to sit outside in the shelter.

Performance
The design of the Levrier des Mers was inspired by offshore racing boats. It has ballast (twice 1500 litres of seawater) that increase comfort and speed.
